Covid antibody test is a sero-surveillance test to understand the immune response against COVID-19 infection. This test detects the presence of IgG antibodies against SARS-CoV-2 virus. However, presence of antibodies indicate an exposure to the virus. Presence of current infection or complete recovery from the infection cannot be interpreted from this test, for which RT-PCR may be opted. Patients medical history, physical findings and other diagnostic procedures should be taken into consideration for interpretation of obtained results.
